What is COHORT Analysis? How to read a COHORT chart?
Cohort analysis means grouping customers or users or any category which has something in common and tracking their behavior or values over time. Example: How Much Do Kids Study day by day based on their joined date? Imagine a teacher wants to understand how consistently students study each day . The teacher groups students based on when they joined the study program . How do we read this chart? Monday Joined group: These kids started on Monday. We follow them for several days and see the study time decreased over time for the 1st batch. Monday → 2 hrs → 2 hrs → 1.5 hrs → 1 hr Tuesday Joined group: They started one day later, so we only have data for fewer days and they are inconsistent. Tuesday → 1.5 hrs → 2 hrs → 1.5 hrs Wednesday Joined group: They just started, so we only have a couple of days of data.
